The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), commencing on June 18th, is poised to showcase a range of new investment projects across various sectors. While the official signing program remains confidential, insights into planned agreements have emerged, revealing a focus on innovation, pharmaceuticals, industrial development, and unmanned technologies.
Several significant projects are slated for implementation in the Pushkin district, including the creation of an innovation and industrial center as part of the “Neva Delta” project. This initiative, based on the new university campus of St. Petersburg State University, represents a substantial investment aimed at fostering scientific and technological advancements. Furthermore, a pharmaceutical plant by Farmproekt is planned within the MAIP framework, benefiting from preferential land allocation and guaranteed product purchases.
The forum will also highlight the establishment of new industrial parks across St. Petersburg. ZASLON JSC intends to create a park specializing in equipment for aviation, shipbuilding, microelectronics, and software. Another industrial park is planned for the Kolpino industrial zone by M10 LLC, accommodating numerous innovative and industrial investors. Additionally, VTB Logistics’ subsidiary aims to construct production and warehouse facilities in the Mar’ino industrial park.
Within the St. Petersburg Special Economic Zone, several agreements are expected to be signed for new projects. These include BROMO LLC’s plant for heat exchange and refrigeration equipment, VNIIR-Progress’s production of interference-resistant receivers, Quantrum LLC’s plant for autonomous power sources, and National Cooling Systems LLC’s complex for industrial refrigeration equipment. Virial LLC also plans to launch a metal cutting plate plant, while the Kursk Electrotechnical Plant intends to establish a research and development center for low-voltage equipment.
Unmanned technologies are another key area of focus at SPIEF. Drone Corporation aims to establish mass production of power plants for UAVs, while AN Invest Northern Capital plans to create production buildings for unmanned vehicles in the Rybatskoye industrial zone.
Other notable projects include Eurostroyservis’s pipe-rolling plant, the modernization of the St. Petersburg Plant of Precision Alloys, and retail developments by PJSC Corporate Center X5 and Maksimdom. While agreements at SPIEF are primarily agreements of intent or cooperation, they lay the groundwork for future specific agreements, with potential exceptions for concession projects. The signing program is subject to change, with some previously anticipated items, such as an updated agreement between the city and Russian Railways, not currently included.
