St. Petersburg Graduates Achieve High Scores on Unified State Exam in Mathematics

Forty graduates in St. Petersburg achieved the highest possible score of 100 on the Unified State Exam (USE) in mathematics. The city’s education committee announced the results on Tuesday, June 10th.

Over 3,300 graduates scored between 80 and 99 points on the advanced level math exam. More than 15,800 students took the advanced level exam, while over 12,000 took the basic level exam.

The average score for St. Petersburg students on the advanced mathematics exam was 64, surpassing the national average of 62.05. According to Alexey Tretyakov, director of the Governor’s Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 30, students passionate about mathematics who systematically study the subject are capable of completing even the most difficult tasks on the exam.

The number of students in St. Petersburg choosing to take the advanced mathematics exam has increased this year to 19,599, representing 61% of graduates. This is a 15% increase compared to the national average.

Graduates also performed well on the basic mathematics exam, with the average score in St. Petersburg exceeding a 4.

Following the USE exams in chemistry, literature, and history, 236 graduates in St. Petersburg had already received perfect scores of 100.
