St. Petersburg experienced a surge in emergency calls as fire and rescue units responded to 19 incidents caused by strong winds. The St. Petersburg Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the majority of these calls involved fallen trees.

On July 31, emergency responders addressed 15 incidents of sawing up fallen trees. They also worked to secure or remove four instances of poorly reinforced structures that posed a risk of collapse.

The city was hit by a wave of severe weather earlier that afternoon, including rain, hail, and powerful gusts of wind. The severe weather caused damage to trees in various locations, including one on the Kronverkskaya embankment, and Alexandrovsky Park.
