St. Petersburg authorities have announced a “yellow” level of danger for the city due to anticipated rain, wind, and thunderstorms. This alert, signifying potentially hazardous weather conditions, is effective from 12:00 to 20:00 on May 30.
Heavy rain, localized downpours, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected, according to the Roshydrometcenter. Wind gusts during thunderstorms could reach speeds of up to 15 meters per second.
City officials urge both drivers and pedestrians to exercise extreme caution during this period of inclement weather. An atmospheric front moving in from the west is responsible for the deteriorating conditions in the region.
