St. Petersburg Anticipates Hottest Day of the Week with Potential Record-Breaking Temperatures

St. Petersburg is bracing for what is expected to be the hottest day of the week, with a possibility of breaking the city’s temperature record. According to chief meteorologist Alexander Kolesov, today’s forecast predicts temperatures reaching 32-33 degrees Celsius, creating conditions for extreme heat.

The current record for the hottest temperature in St. Petersburg for this period is 32.1 degrees Celsius, recorded on July 30, 2012. Meteorologists are closely monitoring the temperature, with calculations at the level of tenths of a degree.

While there is currently no cloud cover over the region, there is a chance of rain in the evening, particularly in the southwest of the Leningrad region and the western parts of St. Petersburg.

Thursday and Friday are also expected to be hot, with temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius, accompanied by brief rains and showers with thunderstorms during the day.

St. Petersburg has already experienced a weather record today, with the warmest night since the beginning of the year being recorded.
