A Moscow metro station experienced a smoke incident on Thursday, causing temporary disruptions for commuters.
The Zhulebino station on the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line was affected. Eyewitnesses reported thick smoke obscuring visibility at the platform’s edge, with a train stopped and its doors open.
Passengers traveling towards Kotelniki were deboarded from a train, which then proceeded empty. Subsequent delays and crowding were reported at nearby stations, including Lermontovsky Prospekt and Vykhino, where passengers were informed that boarding was restricted.
Metro officials confirmed the incident, describing it as a “slight smoke” on the Zhulebino-Kotelniki section. They stated that the issue was quickly resolved by metro staff without halting train service.
Authorities previously increased intervals on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line to inspect a train.
