Six individuals were detained at the Yaroslavsky railway station in Moscow in connection with an incident involving blogger Areg Shchepikhin, according to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The individuals were taken to the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia at the Moscow-Yaroslavskaya station for investigation following the events that caused a public outcry. The materials from the inspection have been transferred to investigative bodies.

Akhmed Dudaev, the Minister of National Policy of the Chechen Republic, stated that Shchepikhin was detained, not kidnapped, and that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Chechnya is conducting an investigation into the matter.

Earlier reports described an incident at the train station where a man was forcibly dragged by several individuals into the trunk of a black Mercedes with a blue flashing light. Eyewitness accounts and a video circulating on social media showed the man screaming and asking for help.

Law enforcement agencies initiated an investigation into the alleged kidnapping to clarify the identities of those involved and the cause of the incident.
