Singer MakSим Shares Near-Death Experience and Creative Struggles After Coma

Singer MakSим has opened up about her experience in a coma and the impact it had on her life and career, revealing that it took her nearly five years to write again and that she grappled with the question of why she was brought back.

In 2021, MakSим spent two months in a coma, during which time doctors fought for her life and fans hoped for a miracle. After recovering, the singer’s perspective on life changed significantly, but she also experienced a creative block.

MakSим recalls being in a parallel world while in a coma and understanding that she was dying. She felt calm and perceived it as a logical continuation of life, not feeling scared. She remembers being cold and overhearing people praying for her.

She says people in coats approached her and told her that someone wanted to say goodbye to her, and she assumed it was a former young man. They told her to come back as soon as she said goodbye, and she promised.

Upon waking up, MakSим was aware of what had happened to her. She later learned that doctors had expected her to be incapacitated if she survived. She questioned why she had been brought back and what she was meant to do.

MakSим spoke with the person who had insisted on saving her, and she realized that he wouldn’t offer to meet her. She believes that the condition of saying goodbye before returning might have been a factor in her recovery. In her new song, “And really…,” she asks him not to appear yet until she has thanked everyone.

Now, MakSим is balancing her performances, raising her children, and managing her music school. She is also writing a book and planning a biopic film.

MakSим performs in large venues and is grateful to the people who prayed for her survival. She acknowledges that some of the lyrics in her new song may seem grandiose but emphasizes that she wants to thank everyone for their support.
