St. Petersburg experienced significant traffic congestion on July 18, despite an overall city traffic score of only 6 points. Several major traffic jams formed, particularly on the Ring Road (КАД) and in the vicinity of the Murmansk Highway.
The southeast of St. Petersburg is experiencing a severe traffic situation. A 4.2-kilometer traffic jam extends along the Murmansk Highway and Narodnaya Street, stretching from the Ring Road (КАД) to the Volodarsky Bridge.
Traffic is also heavily congested in the opposite direction, from Sedova Street to Dalnevostochny Prospekt. Dalnevostochny Prospekt itself is congested from Krylenko Street to Narodnaya Street, and Oktyabrskaya Embankment is experiencing congestion in both directions.
The Murmansk Highway is facing a 6-kilometer traffic jam heading towards the suburbs, beginning at the interchange near MEGA Dybenko and continuing to the roadwork section on the overpass above the railway. Furthermore, the inner ring of the Ring Road (КАД) is burdened by an 8-kilometer traffic jam from Kudrovo to Obukhovo.
In the southern part of the city, the outer ring of the Ring Road (КАД) is at a standstill. This traffic jam originates before the interchange with the WHSD (ЗСД) and extends to Pulkovskoye Highway. The WHSD (ЗСД) is also congested for 3 kilometers leading up to the southern interchange with the Ring Road (КАД). Adding to the congestion, another traffic jam has formed on the inner ring of the Ring Road (КАД) before the interchange with the Tallinn Highway, stretching almost 3.5 kilometers.
The northern part of St. Petersburg is also facing substantial traffic challenges. An 8-kilometer traffic jam has accumulated on the outer ring of the Ring Road (КАД) from the interchange in Devyatkino to the exit to the Novopriozerskoye Highway. A smaller, but still significant, 1.7-kilometer traffic jam is present on the inner ring before the exit. Additionally, Vyborgskoye Highway is experiencing a 4-kilometer traffic jam for those leaving the city.
