An investigation is underway after an 11-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by three other minor patients in a St. Petersburg children’s psychiatric hospital. The incident reportedly occurred on the night of June 6, after lights out in one of the wards.

According to a statement given to law enforcement by the girl’s 42-year-old mother, the three minor patients used physical force to commit the assault. The victim is a 5th grade student.

The Investigative Committee is currently handling the investigation into the alleged crime.
