Senator Tatyana Sakharova, representing the Murmansk region in the Federation Council, has died at the age of 52. The announcement was made on June 4th by Governor Andrei Chibis.
Sakharova’s death was attributed to a serious illness, according to a message posted on her Telegram channel by her family and friends.
Governor Chibis emphasized Sakharova’s contributions to the region, particularly her support for participants in the Special Military Operation and their families, as well as her active involvement in environmental issues at the federal level. He stated that her passing is an irreplaceable loss for the Kola North.
The farewell ceremony is scheduled for June 6 at 2 p.m. in farewell hall No. 1 of the Central Clinical Hospital of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation.
Born in Donetsk in 1973, Tatyana Sakharova graduated from the Faculty of Statistics of the St. Petersburg University of Economics and Finance in 1995. She began her career in Murmansk in 1996. In 2021, she was elected as a deputy of the Murmansk Regional Duma and subsequently granted the powers of a senator.
