Semyon Spivak, whose career has been intertwined with the Molodezhny Theatre on the Fontanka for 35 years, will host a creative evening on June 15 to mark his 75th birthday. The event will be a conversation about the role of theater as a space for humanity during times of division.

The evening will feature the presentation of Spivak’s autobiographical book, “Alien Mystery,” and the documentary film “Semyon Spivak. 10 Commandments of a Director.” The event promises an exploration of Spivak’s professional secrets and his view of theater as “the art of the impossible.”

The “Spivak Theater” is known for its commitment to the psychological school of theater while remaining accessible to contemporary audiences. Over the past 35 years, the theater has fostered the growth of five generations of actors.

Journalist Innokenty Ivanov, the author and director of the film, will engage in a live discussion with Spivak during the creative evening.
