A Scottish Fold mix cat named Assol is seeking a new home in Novosibirsk after being rescued from a basement in Iskitim. Volunteers at the “Bastet Heritage” shelter are caring for her and hoping to find a suitable owner.
Assol was discovered in a basement in Iskitim, a location known for housing stray animals for many years. According to Imran Tano, head of the shelter, people often abandon animals, including kittens and adult cats, at this location. The shelter recently rescued the last cat living there before the basement was scheduled to be closed.
Tano noted that Assol likely has Scottish Fold ancestry due to her slightly folded ears and thick undercoat. Her personality also aligns with the breed’s characteristics. She is described as a proud cat who is initially wary of strangers and somewhat aloof with other cats. However, Tano emphasizes that she is not inherently mean, noting that the shelter has cared for Scottish cats with more challenging temperaments.
Assol has already undergone several necessary procedures, including spaying, microchipping, and vaccination. Blood tests have also confirmed that she is free from leukemia and immunodeficiency.
Those interested in adopting Assol can contact the “Bastet Heritage” shelter through social media. She will also be featured at the “Tail Day” adoption fair on June 28 at the KLP shopping center on Karl Marx Square.
