A search operation is underway in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for an An-2 aircraft, operated by “MiAn” airline, that went missing on June 10th. The aircraft was carrying five people: two pilots and three specialist observers.
The alarm was raised after an emergency radio beacon was activated. The plane was operating in the Tomponsky district, conducting forest protection work.
A Mi-8 search and rescue helicopter, deployed by “Polar Airlines” and carrying personnel from the Yakutsk Regional Search and Rescue Base, has been dispatched to the area to assist in the search. The authorities are focusing their efforts on locating the missing aircraft and its crew.
