Activists in the Novosibirsk region are seeking relatives of Yakov Petrovich Tokachev, a World War II veteran and full holder of the Order of Glory. The search is part of an effort to gather more information for a memorial album dedicated to the Hero.
Yakov Petrovich Tokachev was born in 1912 in the village of Kondakovo, Vyunsky Village Council, Kolyvan district, Novosibirsk region, and tragically passed away in 1952. Drafted in 1941, he served in the engineering troops as a sapper.
Tokachev was a highly decorated soldier. He received the Order of Glory III degree in 1944, followed by the II degree in September of the same year, and the I degree in March 1945. He also received the Order of the Patriotic War. Only 2,671 people held the full Order of Glory.
Activists are particularly interested in contacting Tokachev’s daughter or other close relatives to enrich the memorial album with personal details and stories. The completed album will be presented as a tribute to his service.
