Novosibirsk authorities are seeking a new carrier for route taxi No. 23, which has been suspended since May 19. The route, connecting the “Rechnoy Vokzal Metro Station” and the Center for Fundamental Medicine, requires two transport units meeting at least the fourth environmental class.
The Novosibirsk City Hall has announced a competition to find a replacement carrier. The previous carrier withdrew from the route due to their vehicle failing to meet the required environmental standards.
The route covers a distance of 26.8 kilometers in one direction. The city’s Department of Transportation is organizing the competition, with applications being accepted from June 6 to July 7.
The results of the competition are scheduled to be announced on August 14. The selected carrier is expected to commence operations within 90 days of the announcement.
In addition to route No. 23, the city is also looking for new carriers for routes No. 53 and No. 53/1 (“Lunin College – Krylya”). The suspension of route No. 23 in May caused transport issues in Nizhnyaya Yeltsovka. The former carrier cited the unprofitability of the route and difficulty in acquiring new vehicles meeting environmental standards as reasons for leaving the line.
