A sawmill is on fire on Zhivotnovodov Street in the village of Baltym, with the fire now localized after engulfing lumber across 750 square meters. Eight fire engines are at the scene battling the blaze.

Eyewitnesses report a strong burning smell and smoke affecting nearby residential buildings. An ambulance is present at the scene, though there is currently no official information regarding casualties.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the fire engulfed lumber both within the sawmill’s territory and in an open area. Rescuers have shared video footage of their efforts to extinguish the fire.

The incident follows earlier reports of a multi-story office building fire in Yekaterinburg and a tram fire at the “Opera Theater” stop, which disrupted traffic.
