Sofia Gabdrakhmanova, a high school student from Samara, has excelled in chemistry, participating actively in olympiads and earning a spot at any university in the country. Her passion for chemistry ignited at the regional center for gifted children, where she was surrounded by like-minded peers.

Initially, Sofia found chemistry complex and illogical. However, with continued study and participation in special courses, she began to excel. She achieved a passing score at the regional stage of the All-Russian Olympiad in the 8th grade, a surprising feat for herself and her teachers.

Sofia clarifies that her teachers understand that she and others studying chemistry know the school program so they learn the same chemistry but at a more in-depth level. While she also enjoys physics and mathematics, chemistry remains her primary focus. She’s undecided on a specific profession but looks forward to an internship at SIBUR this summer, hoping it will provide clarity.

Sofia found the OGE (Main State Exam) format beneficial, crediting her preparation throughout the year. As a winner at the VSOSh, her chemistry exam was automatically credited. She is currently aiming for a gold medal.

Sofia highlighted the All-Russian Chemistry Olympiad as a significant event, having participated for three years and becoming a prize-winner. She values the support and camaraderie among participants, emphasizing that competition doesn’t preclude friendship.

Sofia believes that chemistry is a fundamental science with applications in various aspects of life. She considers artificial intelligence a tool to aid humans rather than replace them, as it lacks imagination and fantasy. She has been studying at the center for gifted children since the seventh grade, having previously attended with her sister.

Maintaining a balance between academics and personal well-being is a priority for Sofia. She aims to return home every weekend, although her schedule often prevents it. She emphasizes the importance of rest and prioritizes sleep over all-night study sessions.

In her free time, Sofia enjoys hobbies such as chess and skateboarding. She expresses an interest in dance, particularly vogue and electronic dance, but hasn’t been able to fit it into her schedule.
