Saint Petersburg State University (SPbSU) has announced a third competition for the initial phase of campus construction in the Pushkinsky district. The tender documentation was released on July 31st.
The selected contractor will be responsible for the design and construction of sub-stage 1.1, encompassing educational building No. 3 and a utility building, within the first stage of the project. SPbSU has allocated 3.281 billion rubles for this undertaking. The deadline for completion of all work is set for December 31, 2027. The results of the competition are expected to be announced on August 21st.
An earlier attempt to secure a contractor was unsuccessful due to a lack of applications. In 2024, a subsequent competition resulted in a contract with the Moscow-based company “Polytekhstroy-Svargo” for 3.036 billion rubles. This contractor had previously been involved in the restoration of the St. Petersburg Conservatory named after Rimsky-Korsakov. However, this contract was terminated by mutual agreement on June 30th, with only 2.8 million rubles worth of work completed.
The planned SPbSU campus in Pushkin will span approximately 200 hectares. The facility is designed to accommodate 20,000 students for both residential and academic purposes.
