S7 Airlines Fined for Overbooking Passengers

S7 Airlines has been fined 30,000 rubles for overbooking a flight from Novosibirsk to St. Petersburg. The West Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office announced the penalty on Friday.

The incident occurred in May 2025, when three passengers were denied boarding because the airline had mistakenly registered passengers from a connecting flight onto the same flight.

This resulted in S7 Airlines facing an administrative offense case under Part 2 of Article 14.4 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, which addresses the repeated provision of services that violate established legal requirements.

NGS has reached out to S7’s press service for comment. This is not the first time S7 has faced fines for overbooking; a similar incident occurred in May, affecting passengers traveling from Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, and Moscow.
