Rustam Nabiev, a blogger, para-athlete, and public figure, has been awarded the IV National Internet Content Award in the “Being Human” special category. The award ceremony took place in Moscow.
Nabiev received the award from Sergei Kiriyenko, the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IRI, and Alexei Goreslavsky, the General Director of IRI.
Nabiev overcame severe challenges after losing his legs during his military service in Omsk, where he was trapped under the collapsed barracks and experienced two clinical deaths.
Despite his injuries, he became a member of the Moscow region sledge hockey team and achieved recognition as a Guinness Book of Records holder for his mountaineering feats. He is also celebrated as the first person without prostheses to scale the eight-thousander Manaslu (8163 m).
Currently, Nabiev is preparing for the birth of his third child and continues to share his life experiences through his blog.
