The Russian Museum of Ethnography will offer special evening tours in June, providing access to areas typically closed to the public. The “White Nights in the Marble Hall” tours promise a unique experience after the museum’s regular hours.
The tours, scheduled for select dates in June, will commence at 6:00 PM and 7:15 PM. Visitors will explore the upper gallery of the Marble Hall, gaining a fresh perspective on its architectural details, including the hall’s 24 colossal marble columns. Each column is noted to weigh 24 tons.
Participants will also have the rare opportunity to enter the museum courtyard, an area normally off-limits to visitors. Here, they will learn about researchers like Yuri Knorozov, whose lives were intertwined with the museum’s history. The tour will conclude with an exit through the museum’s service entrance.
The dates for the “White Nights in the Marble Hall” tours are June 13-14, 20-22, and 28-29. The event is open to all ages (0+).
