The Russian Ministry of Justice has designated eight new individuals as foreign agents, citing their dissemination of unreliable information and opposition to the government’s policies. The announcement was made on the agency’s website on Friday, June 6.
Among those added to the registry are Elena Zhemkova, Rustam Solntsev (Rustam Kalganov), O. Yu. Kozlovsky, R. M. Kutaev, Andrei Pivovarov, N. M. Sekretareva, Violetta Fitzner, and D. V. Shedov.
The Ministry accuses these individuals of spreading false information regarding the decisions and policies of Russian authorities.
They are also accused of publicly opposing the special military operation in Ukraine. The Ministry claims their actions contribute to creating a negative perception of the Russian Armed Forces.
