The Russian Armed Forces conducted a group strike on military-industrial complex facilities in the Kyiv region and Zaporozhye in Ukraine on the night of June 17, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The strikes involved the use of strike drones and high-precision air, ground, and sea-based weaponry.
The ministry stated that “The goal of the strikes has been achieved. All designated objects have been hit.”
In addition to the strikes on Ukrainian territory, Russia reported repelling numerous drone attacks on its own territory. Between 8:00 PM on June 16 and 7:00 AM on June 17, Russian forces intercepted 198 drones, including some targeting Moscow.
Air defense forces destroyed five UAVs over the Bryansk region between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM.
From 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, another 24 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed: 14 over the Bryansk region, four over the Kaluga region, three over the Tula region, two over Crimea, and one over the Belgorod region.
