Sergey Matsotsky, a prominent IT entrepreneur and former board member of Alfa-Bank and VimpelCom, has been arrested in Moscow on charges of large-scale bribery. The Basmanny Court of Moscow ordered his detention following a request from preliminary investigation authorities.
According to reports, Matsotsky is accused of bribing an official on a particularly large scale.
It is understood that the arrest was made in absentia, and Matsotsky had been placed on a wanted list.
Matsotsky is a founder of major Russian IT service company IBS and international company Luxoft. He departed from IBS in 2020 to establish GS-Invest holding. He held a position on the board of directors of Alfa-Bank starting in 2020, and in VimpelCom (Beeline) from 2021, before leaving both in 2022.
