Moscow students who took the Unified State Exam (EGE) in Russian language on May 30 expressed mixed reactions, with some finding the exam more challenging than practice tests. 71,000 students in Moscow participated in the exam. The results are expected no earlier than June 16.
Several students reported that the essay topics were particularly difficult, and that they were not adequately prepared for them. One student’s essay topic was “The Real Talent of an Artist, What is its Strength,” while another’s was “What is the difference between intellectuals and the intelligentsia.”
Some students also complained about the difficulty of the test portion of the exam. One student stated that they typically scored 80 points or higher on practice tests but felt they performed poorly on the actual exam.
Other graduates experienced high levels of stress and anxiety before the exam. One student reported having a five-hour panic attack and only sleeping for an hour.
One student had an issue with the exam form, which caused some letters in the essay to be illegible. The student was given a new pen, but the problem persisted.
Readers of the MSK1.RU Telegram channel also reported that the exam was more difficult than the practice tests.
The next EGE will be held on June 2 and the main period for passing the state exam will end on July 4.
