The Russian government is launching an Artificial Intelligence Development Center to streamline the adoption of AI technology across the nation. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko will oversee the project, which aims to coordinate government bodies, regions, and businesses in the implementation of AI solutions.
The new center, operating under the Analytical Center under the Government of Russia, will function as a nationwide project office. Its key responsibilities include selecting and replicating standard AI solutions, providing expert and methodological support, and fostering international cooperation to integrate AI technology into various sectors of Russia.
According to Grigorenko, the implementation of AI is already showing positive results in the economy, social sphere, and public administration. The goal is to ensure that the benefits of artificial intelligence are accessible to all citizens.
Furthermore, the center will focus on enhancing Russia’s competitiveness in global markets through technological advancements. This involves replicating existing best practices within Russia, developing regulatory frameworks to ensure the safe use of AI technologies, and promoting international collaboration.
Artificial intelligence is already being utilized in areas such as forensics, where it has assisted in solving complex crimes. Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee, highlighted the importance of human oversight in the application of AI within this field.
