Temporary restrictions on accepting and releasing aircraft have been introduced at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky (Ramenskoye) airports to ensure flight safety, according to a statement released on the afternoon of June 8th by Rosaviatsiya.
The restrictions follow reports of drones being shot down near the capital the previous night.
The “Carpet” plan, a special regime that closes airspace over a specific area, has been activated. This plan mandates that nearly all aircraft either land at the nearest airport or exit the restricted zone.
Flightradar data illustrates the current airspace situation over the Moscow region.
This marks the latest instance of airspace limitations over Moscow, with Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports previously affected.
