Natalia Tenyakova, a renowned Russian actress and People’s Artist of Russia, has passed away at the age of 80 due to cardiac arrest. The actress, also known as the widow of director Sergei Yursky, died on June 18th, just two weeks before her 81st birthday on July 3rd.

The news of her passing was confirmed by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Andrei Davydov, who attributed her death to cardiac arrest, according to TASS.

Tenyakova had been experiencing health issues leading up to her death. She had missed several performances earlier in 2024 due to illness. In January, she reported receiving treatment at home following a period of hospitalization and expressed her hope to return to the stage.

She was scheduled to appear in the Moscow Art Theatre (MKhT) production “9th Row. 10th, 11th Seat” on June 26th but passed away before she could perform.

According to SHOT Telegram channel sources, Tenyakova’s blood pressure spiked due to strong anxiety. Colleagues mentioned that this was the second such incident in two days. While doctors were able to assist her during the first episode, hospitalization was not required at that time. However, the second incident proved fatal.

Colleagues remember Tenyakova fondly. Actress Lada Sizonenko shared with NEWS.ru that it was difficult to accept the loss of such a significant figure and noted that Tenyakova was a cheerful and vibrant person to work with.

The actress will be buried at the Troyekurovsky Cemetery, with the date of the funeral to be announced later.

Tenyakova is survived by a country house near Noginsk and an apartment in southwest Moscow. Independent sources estimate the value of the dacha at approximately 30 million rubles and the apartment at 18 million rubles. She also leaves behind a vehicle and works of art. Her daughter, Natalia Yurskaya, is expected to inherit her estate.
