Russian Actor Veniamin Smekhov Visits Novosibirsk Art Museum

Veniamin Smekhov, the acclaimed Russian actor renowned for his portrayal of Athos in “D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers,” recently visited the Novosibirsk Art Museum during his tour in the city. The museum’s press service confirmed the visit.

Smekhov, a laureate of several prestigious awards including the Petropol Art Prize and the Russian National Acting Award “Figaro,” has a history with the museum.

Ekaterina Boldyreva, Director of the Novosibirsk Art Museum, stated that Smekhov and his wife, Galina, are frequent visitors. She explained that the couple contacted the museum prior to their arrival, expressing their desire to revisit the permanent exhibition.

Smekhov reportedly favors 20th-century art. During this visit, he and his wife admired the works of Dmitry Levitsky, Vladimir Borovikovsky, and particularly enjoyed the art of Zinaida Serebryakova.

Smekhov praised Novosibirsk as a highly cultured city with a welcoming and attentive audience, referring to it as the cultural capital of Siberia.

Currently, Smekhov is involved in the Theater of Nations production of “The Last Summer,” which will be presented to the Novosibirsk audience at the Summer Theater Festival.

Prior to Smekhov’s visit, actresses Olesya Zheleznyak and Inna Glukhikh also toured the Novosibirsk Art Museum. Zheleznyak is recognized for her roles in “Silver Lily,” “My Fair Nanny,” and “The Swatch,” while Glukhikh is known for her appearances in “Cursed Paradise” and “I Won’t Come Back.”
