Russia has patented a technology for launching drones from a space station, as announced by Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. The announcement was made during a Council for Strategic Development and National Projects meeting, as reported by RIA Novosti on Friday, June 6.
By 2030, Russia intends to complete the transition to its own orbital station. This station is planned to be the world’s first automated platform featuring a robotic self-service system. Manturov emphasized that this technology is a patented solution of the Russian Federation.
Manturov also revealed plans to significantly increase the number of Russian satellites by 2030 under a new national space project. He proposed immediate approval and implementation of the national project, which aims to provide the entire country, including the Arctic, with stable communication channels by 2030.
Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Bakanov stated on June 3 that the national space exploration project had been revised following presidential instructions. The key revision involved merging all state space initiatives into a single, coordinated program.
The Ministry of Finance has approved 4.5 trillion rubles for the implementation of the program. Approximately 4.4 trillion rubles are planned for the updated national project for the space industry until 2036, with 1.7 trillion allocated for the next six years. This allocation was discussed during a meeting between Chairman of the Government of Russia Mikhail Mishustin and President Putin.
