Russia has commenced serial production of the Oreshnik missile system, with the initial units already delivered to the Russian Armed Forces. President Vladimir Putin announced this development during discussions with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Valaam on August 1.

Putin stated that the first serial Oreshnik missile complex and missile have been manufactured and are now in service. He added that serial production has now begun.

The leaders also discussed the planned deployment of the Oreshnik system in Belarus. According to Putin, suitable locations have been identified, and preparatory work is underway. Lukashenko mentioned that the Belarusian military aims to have the system operational in Belarus this year, a plan both parties intend to adhere to.

Putin indicated that they anticipate finalizing the deployment issue before the end of the year, emphasizing that everything is proceeding as scheduled.

Last November, Putin revealed the successful testing of the Oreshnik system, during which a defense industry target in Ukraine was struck. He stated that the combat testing was a response to aggressive actions by NATO countries. At that time, he pledged to provide open and public warnings to Ukrainian civilians before deploying the weapon.
