Russia Awaits US and UK Response to Ukrainian Strikes on Russian Territory

Moscow is awaiting a reaction from the United States and the United Kingdom regarding Ukrainian forces’ strikes on strategic facilities within Russia. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated this on Wednesday, June 4th, according to TASS.

Ryabkov indicated that the absence of a response from Western nations could suggest their indirect participation in the planning of these attacks.

He urged London and Washington to react in a manner that halts the escalating cycle and restores a sense of strategic stability.

Ryabkov mentioned that Moscow has demonstrated considerable restraint following attacks by Ukrainian forces on railway infrastructure and airfields. However, he believes that Kyiv’s actions are a deliberate attempt to escalate the conflict.

Furthermore, Ryabkov stated that certain European countries are contributing to the escalation and hindering any possibility of a peaceful resolution.

On June 1st, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Kyiv carried out a terrorist attack using FPV drones against airfields in the Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions.

Additionally, a road bridge was destroyed in the Bryansk region, causing debris to fall onto a passing passenger train, resulting in over 100 injuries and seven fatalities. A bridge also collapsed in the Kursk region that same night.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has identified Ukraine as the perpetrator of the bridge bombings.

On June 3rd, an attempted sabotage near the Crimean Bridge was reported by the operational headquarters of Crimea.

The day before, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Kyiv had not informed the US President about the attacks on Russian airfields on June 1st.
