Roman Rotenberg Relieved of Head Coach Position at SKA St. Petersburg

Roman Rotenberg is no longer the head coach of SKA St. Petersburg, a decision made by the club’s new board of directors. An official announcement is expected to be made on Monday.

The decision follows a change in SKA’s management on May 30, which saw Vitaly Markelov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Gazprom, become the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Nikita Stenichkin take over as General Director. The club’s board deemed the results of the 2024/25 season unsatisfactory for both the coaching staff and management.

Under Rotenberg last season, SKA finished seventh in the Western Conference during the regular season. The team was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, losing to Dynamo Moscow 2-4 in the series.
