A 50-year-old St. Petersburg resident was robbed of over two million rubles, an iPhone, keys, and bank cards after being pepper-sprayed in the face in the Kolpinsky district. The incident occurred on Oktyabrskaya Street, near his home.
The victim reported the crime to the police yesterday around 8 PM, stating that an unidentified individual on a black electric scooter sprayed him with pepper spray and stole his bag. The robber made off with the victim’s belongings, which included a substantial amount of cash, his phone, apartment keys, and bank cards.
A passerby assisted the victim by calling emergency services. Police are currently searching for the suspect, described as a slender man of medium height wearing a blue jacket and white gloves. The suspect’s face was concealed by a balaclava, making identification difficult.
Authorities have recovered the empty bag behind the Oka shopping center. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region confirmed that the victim did not require medical attention.
A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the robbery. The investigation is ongoing to apprehend the suspect and recover the stolen items.
