St. Petersburg is bracing for further road restrictions in the final days of June due to a combination of filming activities, cultural events, and sporting competitions. The Transport Committee has issued warnings about upcoming changes, commencing June 18th.
The restrictions include a stopping ban on a segment of Yuri Gagarin Avenue from Basseinaya Street to Kuznetsovskaya Street from 1:00 AM to 11:30 PM on June 21st, in preparation for a concert at the “SKA Arena” sports and concert complex.
Cycling competitions will lead to closures on the road to Lenin’s Hut from 0:00 to 15:00 on June 21st, July 12th, and August 19th, with traffic being blocked during the period from 9:00 to 15:00 on those same days.
Filming of the feature film “Young Yaga” will cause a stopping prohibition on the Fontanka embankment from Pestelya Street to house number 24 from 0:00 to 16:00 on June 22nd, and a narrowing of the roadway in the same location from 16:00 on June 22nd to 7:00 on June 27th.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, taking place from June 18th to 21st, is also causing various changes and restrictions to the city’s traffic.
