The bridge on the 42nd kilometer of the Yekaterinburg Ring Road (EKAD) is undergoing repairs for the second consecutive year, causing significant delays and traffic congestion. The head of the Sverdlovsk region, Denis Pasler, has criticized the slow progress and demanded action against the contractor, AvtodorStroy.

Pasler expressed his dissatisfaction at a government meeting, highlighting the unacceptable delays and their impact on drivers. He emphasized that the road season is limited, and contractors should not be allowed to cause downtime and delays.

Contracts are already being terminated at some facilities due to poor performance. Pasler instructed relevant departments to proactively pursue claims against non-compliant contractors instead of waiting for resident complaints. He stressed the importance of replacing poorly performing companies promptly.

Last year, from spring to autumn 2024, the right side of the overpass was repaired, with a planned completion date of October 21. However, the contractor, AvtodorStroy, failed to meet the deadline due to slow work pace, leading to traffic jams and public frustration.

In spring 2025, the contractor was given another opportunity to complete the repairs, and the left side of the bridge was closed on March 30. A strict deadline was set for July to fully commission the overpass.
