Road Repairs Completed on Key St. Petersburg Streets

Road workers in St. Petersburg have finished repairing three major roads located in the Central, Petrograd, and Petrodvorets districts, according to an announcement made on June 4 by Governor Alexander Beglov.

The renovations included Vladimirsky Prospekt, Yablochkova Street, and Manezhnaya Street with Manezhny Descent.

On Vladimirsky Prospekt, a heavily used street in the city center, workers removed the old road surface and installed over 10,000 square meters of new two-layer asphalt concrete. Cast asphalt was used in the tram track area, and manhole covers were replaced. Additionally, new thermoplastic markings were applied to the avenue.

The governor’s press service highlighted the use of volumetric-functional design technology in the work, stating that the asphalt concrete mix was specifically chosen to withstand the local climatic conditions and transport load.

In the Petrogradsky district, comprehensive repairs were carried out on Yablochkova Street near the St. Vladimir Cathedral, resulting in the renewal of more than 3,000 square meters of road and sidewalk surfaces.

In the center of Lomonosov, repairs were completed on Manezhnaya Street and Manezhny Descent, areas that are home to the “Manezh” sports school and the “Peterhof” youth center. These repairs covered nearly 6,500 square meters of roadways and sidewalks.

Governor Beglov noted that the road repair program for the current year encompasses approximately 90 locations. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a high repair rate to ensure timely completion of all planned projects.

The address program for the year aims to repair more than 2,327 thousand square meters of roads. Further renovations are planned for Toreza Avenue, Kupchinskaya Street, Peterburgskoye Highway, two sections of Stachek Avenue, and tram tracks on Rabfakovskaya Street. Road repairs are also scheduled for areas near several metro stations, including “Zvenigorodskaya”, “Chernaya Rechka”, and “Krestovsky Island”.
