The trial has commenced in Yekaterinburg for Sergei Krasutsky and Evgeny Marunyak (Marunya), who are accused of severely beating a 54-year-old man in a parking lot incident that occurred a year ago. The charges stem from an incident on Malysheva Street where Vladimir Nemykin sustained serious injuries.
Nemykin stated that he intervened to prevent a conflict involving his son and was subsequently attacked by both Krasutsky and Marunyak. He reported suffering ongoing health problems, including a skull fracture, and expressed disappointment that neither of the accused had apologized or shown remorse.
Video footage of the incident shows Marunyak striking Nemykin from behind, followed by Krasutsky kicking him while he was on the ground. Another individual, Anton Terekhin (Shaman), is seen threatening Nemykin’s son, who attempted to defend his father using a gas canister.
Krasutsky did not appear in court due to a reported leg injury sustained in a separate incident involving law enforcement. Marunyak’s defense argues that Nemykin and his son initiated the conflict by attacking Krasutsky, who was acting in self-defense. The defense claims that Marunyak intervened to protect Krasutsky.
The defense presented video footage purportedly showing Nemykin and his son initiating the physical altercation with Krasutsky.
Marunyak and Terekhin have prior reputations within Yekaterinburg’s criminal circles. Terekhin, a former law enforcement officer, was reportedly dismissed due to connections to criminal elements. Both have been linked to debt collection activities and other incidents of violence.
Krasutsky has a history of controversial behavior, including a recent incident where he was shot in the leg while evading authorities in connection with a bribery investigation. He was previously involved in a road rage incident where he damaged a vehicle transporting COVID-19 tests and has also been accused of harassing his ex-wife.
