Residents of a garden association in Novosibirsk’s Oktyabrsky district are facing significant disruptions due to a road closure caused by heating main replacement work. The Siberian Generating Company (SGC) initiated the project, leaving residents of the SNT “Veteran” cut off from their usual route.
The road closure forces drivers to take a detour through the MZhK residential area, adding up to an hour to their commute. According to Natalya, a local landowner, the usual quick access from Vybornaya Street is now blocked with no immediate alternative route provided. The repairs are projected to last from June 4, 2024, to October 30, 2025.
SGC, in collaboration with government officials, has arranged a detour for the affected residents. An agreement was reached with the owner of the building at 199/2 Vybornaya Street to allow passage through the adjacent territory.
The contractor is expected to establish this detour by June 11, 2024. This arrangement comes after similar road blockages in the Dzerzhinsky district of Novosibirsk at the end of May, highlighting ongoing challenges with infrastructure repairs in the city. One road closure on May 27 directed traffic through the residential area at 17 Adriena Lezhena Street.
