Reports of Mikhail Efremov’s Affair with Actress Daria Belousova While in Prison

Mikhail Efremov, the actor who was imprisoned following a fatal car accident in 2020, reportedly had a relationship with actress Daria Belousova while serving his sentence. Belousova, 41, allegedly visited Efremov in the penal colony, where they spent three days together.

Efremov, who has been married to sound engineer Sofya Kruglikova since 2002, has three children with her.

The alleged affair reportedly began before Efremov’s imprisonment. According to sources, Efremov and Belousova rented an apartment together in Kazarmenny Lane several years ago, the same location from which Efremov was taken for questioning after the June 9, 2020 accident. The relationship supposedly continued after his arrest, with Belousova visiting him in the colony shortly before his release. During her visit, they purportedly stayed in a special unit equipped with amenities such as a shower, kitchen, TV, and bed, and even left a note with paired autographs for other inmates.

Daria Belousova, born on August 29, 1983, is the daughter of Lenkom actor Vladimir Belousov. She graduated from the M.S. Shchepkin Higher Theater School and joined the Sovremennik Theater. Belousova’s film credits include roles in productions such as “Zhiza,” “Imprints,” “Babki,” “The Vanished,” “The Mistress of the Taiga,” and “Fathers and Sons.”

Belousova was previously married to Shamil Khamatov, the brother of actress Chulpan Khamatova. They met while working on the play “Murlin Murlo” and married in a ceremony held at the theater. Their marriage lasted for eight years.

Mikhail Efremov was involved in a car accident in central Moscow on June 9, 2020, where, while intoxicated, his SUV crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a van. The van’s driver died from his injuries.

Efremov was initially sentenced to eight years in prison, but the term was later reduced to seven and a half years upon appeal. He was granted parole on March 24, 2025, due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
