The city administration of Novosibirsk has announced that Secondary School No. 153 is in satisfactory condition despite requiring several repairs. A state of heightened readiness has been introduced at the school to address structural issues.

The city administration, citing the Department of Education, confirmed that access to emergency areas within the school building is restricted and does not endanger the safety of students and staff.

Planned repairs include the main entrance porch, the roof above the assembly hall, and the building’s facade, focusing on replacing damaged cornice slabs and repairing brickwork. Design and estimate documentation for these projects have been submitted for verification.

Further documentation has been prepared for gymnasium repairs and partial roof work and is currently under review. Additionally, cost estimates are in place for replacing window units, repairing the building’s blind area, and paving the school grounds, with contracts already secured for perimeter lighting, heating system repairs, and roof fence replacement.

Scheduled for this summer are repairs to the gymnasium roof, building facade, main entrance porch, and other areas. The city administration has prioritized completing all work in emergency areas completely.

Additional funding in 2025 may enable further repairs to the gymnasium and food unit. This announcement follows news of a state of heightened readiness due to the destruction of a retaining wall in the Gorsky microdistrict.
