A container platform has been moved in Novosibirsk near a residential building on Kievskaya Street, sparking opposition from residents who fear it will create unsanitary conditions and obstruct access to heating mains. The relocation was carried out despite resident protests, prompting the mayor’s office to issue a statement explaining the decision.
The mayor’s office stated that the relocation was necessary because the original location was within the security zone of heating networks. This decision was made in accordance with a decree from the mayor’s office and a conclusion on compliance with SanPiN (Sanitary Rules and Norms).
Residents voiced concerns that the new location is also situated on top of heating pipes leading to a nearby building, potentially hindering future repairs. They also worry about the increased accumulation of garbage, citing an existing issue with spontaneous dumping in the area due to the distance to the current platform.
The container platform is intended to serve multiple apartment buildings on Kievskaya and Shirokaya Streets, and the mayor’s office clarified that the relocation was prompted by requirements from LLC NTSK to ensure the safety of heating infrastructure.
