A resident of Yekaterinburg discovered a rare coral-like mushroom, known as Ramaria or deer horns, in a forest near the city. The finding is noteworthy because their habitat is not typical for the area.
Kristina, who shared her discovery with E1.RU, stated she found the unusual specimen while foraging. Although residents of the Sverdlovsk region have occasionally encountered this type of mushroom before, such sightings remain infrequent.
Mycologist Viktor Mukhin has previously cautioned against consuming Ramaria mushrooms. Information regarding their edibility is contradictory; some sources claim they are not poisonous, while others suggest they are. Therefore, it is best to avoid eating them altogether.
Furthermore, certain varieties of Ramaria are listed in the Red Books of specific regions, rendering their collection illegal.
Recent reports indicate that mushroom yields in the Sverdlovsk region have diminished due to hot weather conditions during the peak season.
