The quarantine imposed on the Chita State Stable due to suspected infectious anemia in horses will be lifted soon after repeat blood tests came back negative. According to Valeria Staritsina, the stable’s director, the results of the second analysis, conducted a month after the initial test, are expected within days.
The initial quarantine was implemented on April 24, encompassing a three-kilometer radius around the stable. The decision was made after one horse was suspected of carrying the disease and was promptly euthanized by veterinary services.
Staritsina clarified that the first blood analysis, taken in April, showed no signs of the illness. With the anticipated negative results from the second analysis, planned equestrian competitions are set to proceed at the stable in June. The director reassured the public that there are currently no horses suffering from the infectious disease at the Chita State Stable.
