President Vladimir Putin has been presented with a model of the new school primer, signaling a renewed focus on educational materials. Elena Yampolskaya, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, presented the “elegant” version of the primer to Putin, according to the Kremlin press service.

The primer’s cover design, part of a unified state line of textbooks, was created by domestic specialists. Yampolskaya praised the design as “festive, elegant, and at the same time strict,” suggesting it is a visually appealing and disciplined approach. She also proposed reverting the name of the “Azbuka” (Alphabet) textbook back to “Bukvar’” (Primer).

This development follows recent news about the inclusion of textbooks on unmanned aerial vehicles for grades 8-9 in the federal list, indicating a broader effort to modernize and expand the scope of educational resources.
