Russian President Vladimir Putin has disclosed that his granddaughter is fluent in Chinese. The revelation marks the first time Putin has identified the family member with proficiency in the language.

Putin shared the information through journalist Pavel Zarubin on Telegram on June 19. He stated that his granddaughter has a teacher from Beijing and speaks Chinese fluently.

He also noted that his daughter started learning Chinese in the early 2000s. According to Putin, his daughter pursued Chinese studies independently, hiring a teacher out of personal interest.

Previously, Putin had mentioned that some of his relatives spoke Chinese fluently, but he had not specified which family member possessed this skill.
