Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the Security Council on June 10th, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding traditional values against external influences. He asserted that these values are currently facing intense competition in the global arena.

Putin criticized what he described as “neoliberal, and in fact totalitarian” models that seek to impose themselves universally. He warned that attempts to undermine people’s values and sovereignty make them more susceptible to subjugation.

The President stressed the necessity of actively promoting Russian values, particularly among young people, to counter attitudes that could erode them. He believes that Russian values are highly relevant and sought after on a global scale.

Putin highlighted the need to cultivate and strengthen Russia’s humanitarian and cultural identity.
