Russian President Vladimir Putin has officially dissolved the commission responsible for overseeing the construction of the Vostochny Cosmodrome, according to a document published on the official portal of legal information on June 6.
The order, effective immediately upon signing, signals a change in the management structure of the project.
The Vostochny Cosmodrome, Russia’s first civilian spaceport, is designed to launch Soyuz-2 and Angara rockets.
Dmitry Bakanov, the head of Roscosmos, inspected the cosmodrome’s construction progress on May 23.
