Saint Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport resumed normal operations at 8:04 AM after being temporarily closed due to a drone attack in the Leningrad Oblast. The airport had restricted sending and receiving aircraft for a little over three hours.
The airport reported that airlines are making forced schedule adjustments due to the earlier delays. Passengers can still see delays displayed on the online scoreboard, with the last arriving flight from Istanbul at 4:45 AM.
Pulkovo stated that there are no passenger accumulations in the terminal, and they provided a video as confirmation.
The airport also emphasized that servicing personnel and ground services are operating in an enhanced mode to support passengers. Passengers are being provided with water and food while they wait. The airport has also issued reminders about what to do while waiting for their flights.
Earlier in the morning, three drones were shot down in the Leningrad Oblast. One was in the Tosnensky district, another in the Lomonosovsky district, and the third in the Gatchinsky district. Mobile communication and internet access are partially restricted in the region.
